Our tree is officially up and sparkling.
I tried to purchase a fake tree before Thanksgiving and put it up, but Clark struck that idea down quick. So we made a deal instead: the day after Thanksgiving we would go get a real tree. It was my luck that it was raining then, but a promise is a promise so we went on and bought our tree in the rain and set it all up.
We decided on doing all things gold, silver, and white for our decorations this year and I’m so happy we did now that our tree is dressed!
Dressing a tree can be kind of tough when you start adding ribbon and lights and garland and more… Here is one of the best infographics I have seen on decorating a tree:

Now when it comes to adding ribbon, I always suggest cutting pieced and twisting one long piece down the tree. Then starting at a different part at the top and twisting down the tree again until the tree looks balanced with swirling ribbon on all sides. Another tip on ribbon is to never have it sit flat on the tree. Make it as bushy as possible and tuck under a branch deep withing the tree to hold secure!
Below are the pieces we used and what I considered.
