My Picks: Spring Earrings

Does anyone else go through seasons of favorite accessories? A few months ago it was bags, last month it was kimonos…but this month it is earrings. Plus, spring sales are in full swing and I am super cheap when it comes to buying trendy jewelry so I’m finally finding pieces at prices I’m willing to pay!

My favorite earrings are bold and colorful, so that it’s easy to bring life to a basic outfit I wear often…especially during spring! But in any event that my outfit has a little more going on I will always opt for simple studs or hoops.

My Picks: Spring Kimonos

Kimonos. They’ve been worn since the 8th century in Japan and the term has now translated to a more comfortable style in the Western world. I must say though, the ornate beauty of the kimono hasn’t lost its appeal.

From spring to fall, I can always include a kimono in my wardrobe. Styling is diverse and easily done, making it a go-to item to spice up a boring outfit.

How I style kimonos :

jeans + tee shirt + kimono
shorts + tank + kimono
romper / dress + kimono
dress + kimono + belt at waist on top of kimono
slacks + blouse + kimono
long sleeve shirt + pants + kimono
bathing suit + kimono

My Picks: Winter Ponchos

It is finally poncho weather and I am screaming with joy. Aside from kimonos, ponchos are one of my favorite ways to make a boring outfit fun.

Once you find a good poncho you can throw it over pretty much anything. I style it with my office wardrobe, athleisure wear, date-night dresses, and morning brunch outfits. You can make the same poncho look completely different with a belt wrapped around the waist or by adding a scarf to outline the front.
